About the Cohasset Diversity Committee:

The Cohasset Diversity Committee, an open, volunteer group, was founded in 1995 by Connie Afshar and Susan Etkind with help from other concerned citizens. This group has worked for the past 25 years to create and maintain an appreciation of the value of diversity in our community and to enhance this community’s experience of diverse populations.  Current co-chairs are Aleisa Gittens-Carle, Cohasset METCO Program Director, and Ashley Webb Colleary, Cohasset parent and Cohasset School Committee member. In 2018, at the annual Martin Luther King breakfast— an event initiated and sponsored by the Committee, open to the public, and hosted in turn by local churches— Ms. Gittens-Carle challenged those in attendance to act on their interest in diversity. Her request brought new members and energy to the group, which now meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Email Ashley for more information!
